Last night we saw ’70s rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd, who despite having only 2 of the original members — now baby boomers themselves — sounds pretty good.
Looking around the crowd — which was sold out — were mostly baby boomers who still remember the band in it’s hay day blasting rebel ballads like Alabama and Free Bird — the Southern Redneck Anthem. Some brought children, now in their 20′s themselves some even sporting young children of their own. The audience was a far cry from the Woodstock days of the ’70s, although we still let with a slight contact high from the marijuana.
I recorded this portion of Free Bird (only about a minute and a half to avoid copyright infringement) to give you a taste of what these rock legends sound like today. I hope you enjoy.
